Mindful Eating is a bit of a ‘hot topic’ at the moment, it’s a phrase that gets thrown around a lot, but not many people actually know what it means. So, let’s have a bit of a look into it all!


Mindful Eating is simply a practice that will help you regain control over your eating habits. In the modern world, we’re all too busy rushing from one thing to the next, we often just gulp down whatever we can find OR we stand at the pantry aimlessly picking away, until we feel somewhat-sort-of-full, but we probably can’t even recall what we ate? Weird isn’t eat. Eating has become SUCH a mindless habit, let’s get back in control.


Mindful Eating has been found to promote weight loss, restore a positive mental health & helps increase awareness around your intake and hunger cues.

Fundamentally, mindful eating involves:

  • Eating slowly and without distraction

  • Listening to physical hunger cues and eating only until you’re full

  • Distinguishing between true hunger and non-hunger triggers for eating

  • Engaging all your senses by noticing colors, smells, sounds, textures, and flavors

  • Learning to cope with guilt and anxiety about food

  • Eating to maintain overall health and well-being

  • Noticing the effects food has on your emotions
